Structure Within Complexity
When chaos becomes legible.
I am drawn to landscapes that at first seem complicated or even chaotic. In these scenes, the photograph often begins with something that separates itself from the confusion—a diagonal, a change in texture or color, repetition of forms, or the distinction between foreground and background.
This project explores those moments when the relationships within a complex landscape begin to reveal themselves. The goal is not to simplify the scene until the complexity disappears, but to find enough visual organization that the complexity becomes part of the photograph rather than an obstacle to it.
